PFIZER CONDUCTS FREE HEALTH SCREENING FOR 500 VILLAGERS

KUDAT, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- Pfizer, a global biopharmaceutical company,
organised a free health screening programme for about 500 residents of Kampung
Andap Bangau and several surrounding villages, here today.
The company's Communications associate manager, Punita Grace said the
corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme aimed to create awareness about
healthcare and children's nutrition in addition to identifying health problems
faced by the people in the area.
"This is the first time residents here are geting such health services and
the response was very encouraging," she told reporters after the health
screening programme in the Open Hall, here.
She said the village located about 35 kilometres from Pekan Kudat and 190km
from Kota Kinabalu was chosen because it was in a remote location away from
health centres and programmes like this would provide residents with health
advice.
